The SHM Facility is a new laboratory that aims to become a state-of-the-art facility with modern monitoring tools and sensor testing equipments based on advanced technologies. Novel sensors and monitoring methods will be researched, developed, calibrated, and validated through testing, and comparisons with numerical models and proven techniques.
The SHM Facility will be raised to a functional level by December 2009. It will contain benches and tools for assemblage and mechanical testing of sensors, climatic chamber and thermal baths for temperature cycling, and will be capable of conducting weathering exposure simulations and accelerated aging tests.
The SHM Facility will be placed in room E132, and will have approximate area of 34 square meters (~4.92x6.96 m = ~ 16'-2''x22'-10''). |
